Join Small Mall featured artist Ceci Ebitz as she leads a movement figure drawing workshop. Attendees will work with Ceci and create a series of gestural drawings of a pair of dancers engaging in contact improv. 

 

Contact Improvisation will be performed by Laura Stokes and two partners. 

 

Accompanying the figure models will be live improvised music by Eric Weidenhof.  

 

Entry fee is $15 

Attendees are required to bring their own supplies and paper for drawing.

Suggested supplies:

-Drawing pencils or graphite

-Oil pastels

-Colored Pencils

-Drawing paper

-Pens such as Microns or Staedtlers

-Markers

-Paper

Please do not bring materials that are prone to messes, such as charcoal, pastels, or any wet mediums.

The space is small, so drawing pads no larger than 18”x24” are recommended. We will not have easels, but will have chairs available.

Ceci Ebitz is a Pittsburgh-based maker and teaching artist. Her work seeks to make better use of the everyday material of her living. She is currently the Visiting Artists and Exhibitions Coordinator for Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild.

Eric Weidenhof is a Pittsburgh based cellist, multi instrumentalist, improviser and co founder of the found sound pop band IT IT. Interested in the intersection of improvisation and composition, he uses voice, loops, cello and electronics to create ambient, pop and experimental music. He has collaborated with musicians from a wide array of genres as well as dancers and performance artists.
