Before you go check out the International, see a little evidence of life in the middle of america.
Comprised: Life in the Middle presents the evidence of artistic communities finding sustenance in the culturally barren landscape of Middle America. Through their vast networks, ethnocuratorialists Casey Droege and Corey Escoto (Gold Standard) gathered artifacts and documentation. With over 60 years of cumulative research, the duo has become fluent in the visual dialects and syntax of the region. This exhibition presents a unique perspective of these cultural economies, providing a window to another place, which exists here and now.
The show runs through November 3rd, at 937 Liberty Ave on the 2nd Floor. Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11- 6pm, Saturdays 11am - 8pm and Sundays 11am - 5pm.
Join us for a special quilting day (ya heard right) on October 13th from 11am - 3 pm and bring your old rags, tee shirts, or just cut up some paintings to contribute... because you can't spell heartland with "art."
