I recently had the opportunity to interview one of my favorite people in the world- Alexis Gideon - for VDrome, an online video platform. We talked through his last video musics project, his process, and his history from when we first met in Chicago 10 years ago.
Vdrome focuses on films and videos directed by visual artists and filmmakers, whose production lies in-between contemporary art and cinema. It's an initiative of Mousse, an Italian arts magazine, and has a permanent home in MOCAD (Detroit). Several incredible curators are involved, including Andrea Lissoni from the London's Tate Modern.
Alexis will be premiering his newest work, The Crumbling, in Pittsburgh this February before heading off on a world tour.
