Creative Director Adil Mansoor, of Hatch Arts Collective, collaborates with Sasha Schwartz, scenographer, and Aaron Landgraf, sound designer, to bring you a special participatory performance. Come play games and interact with Little Amal.

Starting at 4pm, there will be food vendors, tabling, music, and a special performance featuring Little Amal at 5pm. Event wraps up by 6pm.

This event is free and open to the public. Children are welcome and the park is ADA accessible.
Food vendors on site will be offering food for purchase, including Mandu Handu.
Free street parking is available and PRT buses 71, P71, P1, P3 run near the area.

CDCP & Hatch's event for Little Amal is presented in conjunction with the Art all Over exhibition of Kelly Lanzendorfer located at the WCDC’s Lohr Gallery running September 16 - November 18, 2023. Both center themes of home and finding a sense of belonging through the act of exploring our surroundings and cherishing the small delights discovered within our daily experiences.

Who is Little Amal:

On September 20th and 21st, Little Amal, the internationally-celebrated 12-foot-tall puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl, will be arriving in Pittsburgh as part of her epic 6,000-mile journey across the United States this fall. From all corners of the globe, people have welcomed Walk with Amal with open arms and hearts.

Throughout the two-month trek, which will span more than 35 U.S. cities and towns for 100+ events, some of the country’s most influential cultural institutions and artists will come together to greet Amal and add their unique color to the rich tapestry of America’s story.

What else is happening in town:

We’re excited to be part of welcoming Little Amal to Pittsburgh and helping spread her message of hope! There are three other events happening for Little Amal in Pittsburgh:
