STUDIO VISITS
Visit the artist studios at the Brewhouse Association on the Southside. We’ll meet with artists Eriko Hattori (Distillery program artist) and Maia Leppo (Cluster artist) to hear more about their practices and studios, housed within the former Duquesne Brewing Company home built circa 1899.
Eriko Hattori (they/them) is an artist with a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Since graduating, Hattori has devoted their time to both art and activism through her studio practice and organizing for groups that focus on uplifting the marginalized and incarcerated. Their work deals with the relationship between their heritage and queer identity, and has been exhibited across the country.
Maia Leppo (she/her) graduated from Tufts University in 2008 with a degree in Biology and Community Health. She received training in jewelry and metals from various craft schools, including Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Pocosin Arts, Penland School of Crafts and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and her Masters of Fine Art from SUNY New Paltz. She has participated in artist residencies at Arrowmont and Fallingwater and has taught around the country including Penland, Arrowmont, Pocosin, and Touchstone. She currently works out of her studio in the Brewhouse Association on the south side of Pittsburgh.
