Naomi Beckwith, final speaker for the PGH Photo Fair Speaker Series

Join us Wednesday April 25th at the Ace Hotel Ballroom for the final discussion of the PGH Photo Fair Speaker Series. Naomi Beckwith, Curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, will discuss how her current exhibition and book projects focus on the impact of identity and multi-disciplinary practices for shaping contemporary art. Doors will open at 6pm, and the lecture will begin at 6:30pm. 

The event is free and we invite you to stay after the lecture for drinks at the hotel bar.

Naomi Beckwith is the Marilyn and Larry Fields Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, where her exhibition and book projects focus on the impact of identity and multi-disciplinary practices for shaping contemporary art. Prior to the MCA, Beckwith held positions at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia and the Studio Museum in Harlem. Her numerous exhibitions include The Freedom Principle: Experiments in Art and Music, 1965 to Now and 30 Seconds off an Inch, both considering the persistent resonance of black cultural practices across contemporary art internationally.

Jane Jackson for the PGH Photo Fair Speaker Series

Join us Wednesday March 28th at the Ace Hotel Ballroom for the second discussion of the PGH Photo Fair Speaker Series. Jane Jackson, Director Emeritus of The Sir Elton John Photography Collection will talk about the photographs that have inspired Sir Elton John to continue collecting vintage and contemporary photographs for over 27 years. She will discuss the thematic grouping within the collection and how the collection has changed through the years. Doors will open at 6pm, and the lecture will begin at 6:30pm.

Jane Jackson is the Director Emeritus of the Sir Elton John Photography Collection. In 1989, Ms. Jackson founded Jackson Fine Art, a gallery specializing in 20th century and contemporary photography.  With her knowledge in the field, she quickly became an important voice in the international photography market.
