A Big Thank You to our Giving Tuesday Donors

December 4, 2020

This past Tuesday, December 1st, was Giving Tuesday and CDCP received donations from many generous donors. We’re incredibly grateful for these contributions. Like many small businesses and organizations, CDCP was severely impacted by COVID-19. Donating to CDCP ensures our continued dedication to bringing you quality arts programming, highlighting and supporting local artists, boosting the arts economy in Pittsburgh, and of course paying our staff.

We’d like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank those who donated to us.

  • Mark Newport

  • Timothy Gyves

  • Lenka Clayton

  • Carol Skinger

  • Linda Wallen

  • Anita Shahady

  • Paul Cicozi

  • Plus our many anonymous donors

We’re incredibly grateful for all of the support we’ve received since the beginning of the pandemic. Whether it was from attending one of our virtual events or simply sharing one of our posts on social media, we understand and see how every little bits counts towards helping us get through this together.

If you’d like to make a donation to CDCP, please click here to be taken to our donation portal. To make a tax-deductible contribution, visit our fiscal sponsor’s website.

PGH Photo Fair 2020 is cancelled

July 5, 2020

We are saddened to announce the cancellation of this year’s PGH PhotoFair. With the ongoing threats posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and in solidarity with the continued Black Lives Matter efforts occurring across the globe, we felt that hosting an art fair in Pittsburgh this fall would not be in the best interests of our community, our exhibitors, nor our generous hosts at the Carnegie Museum of Art. We are committed to presenting a safe and inclusive event. When we feel we can do that again, we will be thrilled to offer the 8th edition of the fair.

We will still be hosting our free Speaker Series event virtually through Zoom. Our first event with Michael Hawley will be coming up on July 1 at 6:30pm. To find out more information and to sign up for this event, please visit our webpage.

We are also in the process of organizing other virtual programming efforts in lieu of the fair. We will continue to update you as these efforts progress. If you have suggestions for virtual programming that you feel would be engaging and useful, we would love to hear from you!

Thank you for your continued support. We are looking forward to celebrating contemporary photography with you again.

A Special Photo Fair Event with Dayanita Singh

April 6, 2018

Carnegie International and PGH Photo Fair present Dayanita Singh in conversation with Dan Leers, Curator of Photography, Carnegie Museum of Art about her award-winning publication Museum Bhavan (Steidl, 2007), a museum in the form of a photography book. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 11th from 6pm-8pm at Silver Eye Center for Photography, 4808 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15224. The event is free, but registration is required.

Winner of the Paris Photo-Aperture Foundation 2017 Photo Book of the Year Award and the 2018 ICP Book Award, Dayanita Singh is a participant in the 2018 Carnegie International. Come hear the New Delhi-based artist speak about how her exhibitions of photography take many forms, including a jacket she will wear. This garment will inspire a short sketching session to design our own pocket museums. Snacks will follow.
