We’re proud to announce our collaborative collection with MonMade. Organized into three colorways, these works are available in a variety of materials and sizes, making them versatile and appropriate for a number of professional settings (office, corporate, educational, healthcare, or hospitality).
With the support of the Benter Foundation, Casey Droege Cultural Productions and Monmade led five artist entrepreneurs in a free six month Arts Business Coaching Program and produced a co-branded art collection. Five Pittsburgh artists were chosen to create a suite of works including Jessica Alpern Brown, Ignacio Lopez, Deanna Mance, Curtis Reaves, and Sharell Rushin. These artists were led through a series of sessions with Droege, geared at helping them to prepare a portfolio of works and inventory system, understand cost and pricing, polish their web presence and marketing materials, and create archival, sustainable, and durable final products.
Each participant produced a small series of works which were curated by Droege into a co-branded collection. These works will be marketed and sold by Monmade and CDCP. To learn more about the artists and the collection, click the button below!
After 10 years of celebrating food and community, SIX x ATE had its series finale featuring all-star alums and partners. We’re so thankful to everyone who joined us on Wednesday to close off our beloved program. We had a great night of enjoying artist presentations, eating delicious food, and seeing familiar faces from over the years. Compiled by Casey Droege and Vicky A. Clark, we’ve recently published a collection of selected writings written by Alexandra Oliver.
Alexandra Oliver was a force in and for the arts in Pittsburgh, bursting with ideas and enthusiasms. When she began her own blog, with the humble title of “a Pittsburgh art blog,” she wrote: “Ultimately, my hope for this blog is that it provide a record, however imperfect, however partial, that someone made some art and that it mattered. Most artists working today will not enter the canon, but they all deserve a fighting chance. Without the visibility and feedback that art criticism provides, along with a committed cadre of collectors, galleries, archivists and curators, careers will be injured.” Our selections from her writing, in academia and across social media platforms prove that she followed her own advice, in the process adding to the record of art in Pittsburgh.
