“Interlude”, a solo show by resident artist Darrin Milliner, opened last weekend for a socially-distanced, timed reception. Read more about Darrin’s work in a write up in the PGH City Paper and swing by the Project Space to check out this timely show! Open Fri - Sun 11am-4pm at the CDCP Project Space (317 S. Trenton) now thru 10/31.
Join us for a Tiny Talk with Darrin on Wednesday, October 28th at 8PM. You’ll learn more about "Interlude", the process behind his work, and his residency experience.
Registration and ticket purchase required for the Zoom event.
For October, 100% of sales from Darrin's piece "Not Your Sunshine" will be going to Wilkinsburg Youth Project. Available online and in person at the Outpost and Small Mall in Lawrenceville. We are partnering with IDL's Pittsburgh offices to release one print each month, with all profits benefitting local organizations doing racial justice work.
CDCP Project Space is Reopening with a New Exhibit
CDCP Project Space is back with a new show! We partnered with Creative Citizen Studios and paired some of our artists with their artists for some collaborative projects. Adapting to the constraints of the global pandemic, artists exchanged drawings, worked independently and traded pieces back and forth, and finally met in person to further develop their work together. Using a variety of mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and photography, the pieces in this exhibition show a culmination of many hours of collaborative creative exchange.
The CCS + CDCP Fellowship Exhibition is up at the CDCP Project Space (317 S. Trenton) Saturday, August 29th - Sunday, September 13th.
The opening reception is by appointment only on Saturday, August 29thfrom 1 - 8 PM. Each artist pair will “host” an hour long reception with 10 time slots available every half hour.
Masks are required. To learn more and to sign up for an appointment for the opening reception, visit our website.
PGH Photo Fair 2020 is cancelled
We are saddened to announce the cancellation of this year’s PGH PhotoFair. With the ongoing threats posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and in solidarity with the continued Black Lives Matter efforts occurring across the globe, we felt that hosting an art fair in Pittsburgh this fall would not be in the best interests of our community, our exhibitors, nor our generous hosts at the Carnegie Museum of Art. We are committed to presenting a safe and inclusive event. When we feel we can do that again, we will be thrilled to offer the 8th edition of the fair.
We will still be hosting our free Speaker Series event virtually through Zoom. Our first event with Michael Hawley will be coming up on July 1 at 6:30pm. To find out more information and to sign up for this event, please visit our webpage.
We are also in the process of organizing other virtual programming efforts in lieu of the fair. We will continue to update you as these efforts progress. If you have suggestions for virtual programming that you feel would be engaging and useful, we would love to hear from you!
Thank you for your continued support. We are looking forward to celebrating contemporary photography with you again.
